Day 1.- EUROPE – CHICAGO
Departure from your hometown, in a scheduled flight, destination Chicago. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in the centre of Chicago and pick-up the rented car the 3rd day.
Day 2.- CHICAGO
Chicago is a great city with its towering skyscrapers and its Loop, the city centre has the name of the station on high. Visit the Grant Park – the green area between the Loop and Lake Michigan – with the Buckingham Fountain and the Millenium Park where the sculpture “The Bean” stands, which reflects the profile of the city, Michigan Avenue, the elegant Avenue that constitutes the central avenue of the city. Free afternoon to relax and to explore the city. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 3.- CHICAGO – SPRINGFIELD (IL)
Pick-up of the rented car (office next to the hotel). Departure destination Springfield, Illinois, passing through the “mother of all American streets”, the legendary Route 66, which connects Chicago to Santa Monica beach in California. In Springfield is located the Lincoln Home that hosted to Abraham and Mary Lincoln from 1844 until 1861, date of his transfer to the White House. Accommodation at chosen hotel.
Day 4.- SPRINGFIELD – ST. LOUIS (MO)
Breakfast at the hotel. today we head towards St. Louis. We will stay primarily on the 2-lane sections of the Mother Road, traversing cornfields and small towns that represent the heartland of America. Our arrival into St. Louis will be over the Chain of Rocks Bridge, the original bridge where RT 66 crossed the Mississippi River.
Day 5.- ST. LOUIS – SPRINGFIELD (MO)
Breakfast included. In the morning, continue the trip towards Springfield, Missouri, a city renowned as birthplace of Route 66, where past and future are. Accommodation at the selected hotel.
Día 6.- SPRINGFIELD – TULSA
Breakfast and continuation of the route to Tulsa, in the State of Oklahoma. The town centre has buildings in art-deco style, among the best known, Philcade Building and Boston Avenue, United Methodist Church, buildings of great importance. Accommodation at the selected hotel.
Day 7.- TULSA – OKLAHOMA CITY
Breakfast. Today we head towards Oklahoma City, an interesting stage of Route 66, where the fantastic National Cowboy & Westerns Heritage Museum is, where you can find cowboys’ hats and boots. Check-in and accommodation at the chosen hotel.
Day 8.- OKLAHOMA CITY – AMARILLO
Breakfast at Hotel. Route must be continued destination Amarillo, in the State of Texas. You can’t miss Cadillac Ranch, a sculpture composed by 10 broken Cadillac forming a plant on the floor. Arrival at accommodation at the chosen hotel.
Day 9.- AMARILLO – ALBURQUERQUE
Breakfast. You will reach the New Mexico State, where you will find evidences of dominant cultures of the Country: natives, Hispanic and English. Arrival at Alburquerque with its old houses in the lively centre of the city: Old Town. Check-in and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 10.- ALBUERQUERQUE – HOLBROOK
Breakfast and departure to Santa Fe, capital of the State, city in connection to arts. There many writers, painters and photographers live; there are lots of art and museums, where Indian Market is located. Even is Santa Fe isn’t big, is a sophisticated and cosmopolitan city. Continuation to Holbrook. Arrival at the hotel and accommodation.
Day 11.- HOLBROOK – FLAGSTAFF / GRAND CANYON
Breakfast included. You continue to the State of Arizona to reach Flagstaff, classic stage of Route 66, meeting point and trade between the Navajo and the Zuni, these latest are famous for his works of artisanship in silver. Continue to the chosen hotel in Grand Canyon. Accommodation.
Day 12.- GRAND CANYON – LAS VEGAS
Breakfast and Check-out. Today you will enjoy the landscape of the Grand Canyon in Colorado. Day 14.- LAS VEGAS – SANTA MONICA (Los Angeles)
Departure from Las Vegas to Santa Monica, occidental part of Route 66. Queen of Californian beaches and elegant city of the famous beach because of the “Third Street Promenade”, the liveliest zone close to the traffic and Santa Monica Pier, with his panoramic Ferris wheel of 39 metres high in addition to other attractions. Free afternoon to go for a walk or to relax. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 15.- SANTA MONICA
Breakfast included. Free time where you can make a tour around the city (the famous Walk of Fame, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, La Marina, Disneyland, etc.) or you can enjoy the beach close to your hotel. Accommodation.
Day 16.- LOS ANGELES – EUROPE
Free time until the time to take the transfer to the airport. Arrival at the Airport and return the rented car. Management of flight departure to your hometown (night on board)
Day 17.- EUROPE
End of the Trip.
